Devotional Practices

DEVOTIONAL PRACTICES OF GAZE OF MERCIFUL GAZE MEMBERS

The member of the Merciful Gaze must exercise the community’s own piety acts, promoting spiritual unity among all. Their frequency has been organized as daily, weekly, monthly and annual.

Daily

  1. Right after waking up praying the “August Queen of Heaven” prayer, followed by the litany of the saints, prayer to the Holy Angel and proclamation “All for Jesus, Nothing without Mary”.
  2. Dedicate at least ten daily minutes for silent personal prayer, especially meditating on the Word of God through the Gospel of the liturgy of the day.
  3. Prayer of the Marian Rosary, in community or alone.
  4. Before sleeping take a brief examination of conscience, right after praying the Confiteor and renewing their support to the Roman Apostolic Catholic Faith and to the Community by praying the Creed, praying the prayer of St Michael and ending by claiming: “Jesus meek and humble of Heart, make my heart like your own!”.
  • Whenever possible it is also recommended daily:

– praying the Angelus at 12:00 and 18:00 honoring Jesus by the Virgin Mary;

– praying the brief Way of the Cross at 15:00, joining the Passion of Christ;

– participating in the Holy Mass;

– praying Laudes and/or Vespers;

– praying the Divine Mercy Rosary (apart from the hour of Mercy).

Weekly

– Living the Cenacle by locality, according to the charism of the Merciful Gaze;

– Meat abstinence on Fridays (cf. CIC 1250 and 1251).

Monthly

 Holy Mass and adoration in community on the first Fridays of the month in reparation for the sins of the world, to comfort the Sacred Heart of Jesus, according to the request he made to St Margaret Mary of Alacoque.

  • Whenever possible it is recommended, on the first 5 Saturdays of each month:

– Confession. It can be a week before or after every first Saturday, as long as being in a state of grace (without mortal sins) at the time of restorative communion;

– Receiving the Eucharisty at Mass every first Saturday.
