Celebrating Three Years Of Statute Approval

Today is a very special day in the history of the Merciful Gaze, as we celebrate a miracle: three years since the decree of Canonical erection of our community.

In the year 2020, when the Community celebrated four years since its founding, Padre etcetc, ICM, received news of the miraculous decree of Canonical erection for Merciful Gaze.

The decree was issued in December 26, 2019, by Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro. Through it, the Church confirms that Merciful Gaze is an expression of God’s work – – that is, it is part of the charism emanating from the Holy Spirit, and it is unified with the Holy Mother Church.

The decree also approved the Statutes, Directory and Training Program, the documents that govern the Community and the life of its members.

It is the expression of God’s infinite grace, and we should daily remember the wonders God performs, through the Virgin Mary’s gaze, in the life of our dear Community.
